4 Characteristics Of Quantum Physics That Will Help You Master Mindfulness

The quantum world is a good master if you learn to see without your eyes but your heart.

Quantum physics is still one of the scientific mysteries of the last century because it has changed how we see the world. I will simplify it for you by summarizing this magical realm’s characteristics and showing you several ways to use it to master mindfulness.

Let me first emphasize one thing.

The emergence of quantum physics did not cancel out the validity of Newton Physics. Isaac Newton’s discoveries three centuries ago unveiled the physical laws governing the motion of objects in macro-cosmos.

Macro-cosmos could be described as a world with objects bigger than the size of a nanometer. Micro-cosmos is the atomic and the sub-atomic world with particles smaller than the scale of a nanometer.

The laws of physics of the micro-cosmic realm are very much different than the ones governing the macro-cosmos.

Therefore, while Newton’s Laws of Motion is great for explaining and predicting the macro-cosmos we live in every day, they were not useful on the micro-cosmic scale. That is why we needed a different set of laws to explain the atomic and subatomic world.

The mysteries of the quantum world originate from four characteristics.

1. Principle of uncertainty

It is simply about probability vs. determinism.

The macro-cosmos that we see, hear, taste, and smell with our sense is a deterministic world that works on the cause & effect principle called determinism. As long as you know its rules and principles, you can understand what will happen to an object in motion once it moves in another direction under the influence of another object.

The problem is not that simple because life is super-complex that an object is influenced by many known and unknown tangible and intangible factors in real life. This complexity prevents us from understanding the butterfly effect of any cause. So, despite a straightforward and easy-to-use formula to explain the macro-cosmos, you will still end up with a high level of uncertainty and ambiguity in life.

Micro-cosmos is even more complex. It is a world of probabilities. Nothing is certain and predictable. The moment you witness something, it changes. Particles are not solid particles like the objects of the macro-comic world.

They can exist either as a wave or a particle, depending on the conditions and circumstances. Entropy will always find its way to create disorder and chaos because this is the only way change happens and change is the main dynamic of the known universe since the Big Bang.

2. Wave-particle duality

The first characteristics bring us to the wave-particle duality. Let`s see how Wikipedia explains it.

Waveparticle duality is the concept in quantum mechanics that every particle or quantum entity may be described as either a particle or a wave. It expresses the inability of the classical concepts “particle” or “wave” to fully describe the behaviour of quantum-scale objects.

Experiments on the behavior of light showed us the crucial role of the observer. The moment you observe an experiment, things change as we can better understand Schrödinger’s cat, a thought experiment that illustrates an apparent paradox of quantum superposition.

3. Superposition

This one is also cool, as if it jumped from a Star Wars movie.

Superposition is the ability of a quantum system to be in multiple states at the same time until it is measured. Each electron, until it is measured, will have a finite chance of being in either state. Only when measured it will be in a specific spin state.

This phoneme is linked with another super-cool thing. Quantum physics is quite rich with new and mind-blowing terminologies. It talks about the quantum super-wave function, which is the potential of every effect to any cause in the universe. Once a cause triggers something, like observant experimenting, that wave function collapses, ending with one of the probable effects making real.

4. Quantum entanglement

It is about the lack of independence between two particles. That is, the quantum states of two or more objects have to be described concerning each other. It is about the relationship between their fundamental properties that could not have happened by chance.

Quantum entanglement occurs when two particles become inextricably linked with each other. Thus, whatever happens to one immediately affects the other. It makes you think about the soul mates — isn’t it?

Here is what Wikipedia writes about it.

Quantum entanglement is a physical phenomenon that occurs when a pair or group of particles is generated, interact, or share spatial proximity in a way such that the quantum state of each particle of the pair or group cannot be described independently of the state of the others.

Below are 7 things to learn from quantum physics to master mindfulness.

1. Accept things as they are and become a silent witness

I guess this is enough about the odd characteristics of the quantum world. Let`s get down to how it helps with mindfulness.

The principle of uncertainty tells us that life is V.U.C.A. — that is, volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. It is the process of emotional attachment that causes the external world to trigger our inner eMotional states and make us suffer. That does not mean that the world is guilty of how we feel. No, absolutely not.

We are the ones fully responsible for everything that we feel. We all perceive the world differently because we all have a different meaning-making system or paradigms embedded in our subconscious during the early childhood period and with life traumas afterward.

Life is as it is. People, events, conditions, the world, the universe — everything is as it is without any intention to hurt or please us. Everything in life is neutral until we attach a meaning to it in light of our mind map or the mental programming.

2. Let go and let God

You can do your best to follow your dreams, overcome obstacles, and to such through the challenging waters of life. But you have a limit just like anyone else.

3. Wait for the right time

Each flower blossoms at the right time. No matter how much you water or sing love songs to them, they will grow at their own pace.

4. Let things move on at their own speed

You do not have to interfere more than enough to make things happen. Doing enough is enough. Let go of the need to control yourself and others.

5. Learn to be patient

It is hard to see your children fall, but you have to let them experience that too. How can they learn unless they learn it first hand by trying? Your life is the same too. Waiting the right time requires the wisdom of patience.

6. Trust the Force

Know deep in your heart that you are resourceful and there is no scarcity but plentifulness in the universe. Trust the force, as the Jedi frequently say. Know that the best things to happen are kept as a potential in that quantum wave function. Once you know what you really want and want it for the right cause, the universe will bring it to you.

Creation has two folds — mental and physical. Once you make a wish, you create it in your mind and transfer it to the metaphysical realm. It will manifest in your physical life when you are ready to receive it. It will not come when you want but when the universe wants you to receive it.

7. Develop compassion, live with Love

The V.U.C.A. nature of life will throw both the good and bad things at you. It is easy to be happy when good things come and find you. Hardest it is when evil and ugly become a part of your life.

That is the time to recall that good and evil, beautiful and ugly, fair and unfair are just different sides of the same coin and serve the same purpose. The only way to fund beauty in ugliness, good in evil, fairness in unfairness is Love — not a selfish and conditional love but a causeless and unconditional Love.

The term unconditional means loving something or someone without an expectation or a benefit. You love things ad people because they are one of the unique pieces of the cosmic puzzle you are also in. You just watch this comic movie without emotionally being a part of it

8. Just watch without judgment

The modern TV and film industry helps us understand our souls’ situation watching the world around us while being confined in a body. Do you remember the Avatar movie? See your consciousness as being projected into your body and watch the world, as if you are sitting in a movie theater.

Unless you know that the world is an illusion and impermanent and unless you emotionally attach with it, you are a silent observer. Practice non-judgment.

9. Learn

The reason why you are on Earth is to learn and grow spiritually. Why fight the world and people around you instead of learning from them in every breath and showing gratitude to them for being an honest mirror to help you see yourself as you are?
