Hi, I’m Peter, and I’m writing this four days after the second lockdown in England. The Covid-19 period has changed many things and has been a time of increased stress for all, yet the crisis has provided opportunity to deepen so many things.
Celebrating and acknowledging achievement is a big part of progress and change, and it’s often ignored.
After reading this article from Timeout London, and wanted to share with you the 42 things I have achieved since March 2020.
Why? To remind us that our life hasn’t been on pause, and be proud of ourselves. Here we go, join the challenge! Tag #lockdown42
Here are my top 42:
- Took time to process and feel a lot of my suppressed emotions
2. Committed myself to becoming a life coach
3. Committed to success on Medium
4. Connected to my unshakeable and grounded core energy
5. Picked myself up from failure; failed forward
6. Secured a gratitude practice
7. Started qigong
8. Expanded my Reiki master practice; joined the Reiki Association; involved myself in service for the community; started receiving clients for healing
9. Published 100 articles on Medium
10. Grown my audience on Medium
11. Moved city in search of new opportunities
12. Set boundaries with my family
13. Kept meaningful friendships alive
14. Fasted once a month for 6 months
15. Started working with my first life coach client
16. Became so connected to my breath through Wim Hof breathwork
17. Started wild swimming in the sea, and taking cold showers; became intimate with the cold and able to exist and thrive amongst it
18. Deepened my knowledge and wisdom around the elements, and how connected I am to nature.
19. Started Somatic Descent meditation practice
20. Learned how to ‘Inner Parent’
21. Took my first course in coaching
22. Took a course in meta meta awareness
23. Learned how to bring meta meta awareness into life, and coaching
24. Realised how important my life experience is, and how my voice is connected to everything I’ve been through
25. Wrote about my trauma so that I can process it, and others know they’re not alone
26. Started a podcast, hosted 19 episodes
27. Put time and effort into expanding the podcast
28. Joined a men’s group; engaged in that
29. Realised how much I can lead a group of people by courageous sharing
30. Realised how good I am at facilitating a group by holding space
31. Started embodiment training
32. Allowed myself to grieve and cry, a lot
33. Looked into grief in curiosity
34. Bought and read over 50 books about essential wisdom of the human experience
35. Gained an understanding of art, and the hero’s journey
36. Started a life coaching business called ‘Creative Essence Life Coaching’
37. Started visioning the programs that I will offer people to uncover their inner creative essence
38. Came to awareness of reality
39. Gave up porn and started a journey into healthy masturbation
40. Learned about ‘nice guy syndrome’ and what shame is
41. Dedicated myself to health and wellness; running, nutrition
42. Connected more deeply to my martial practice as a spiritual practice.
