Essential books to help you understand Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies, and the Blockchain.

Four years ago, I started learning about cryptocurrencies after I made my first Bitcoin investment.

At this point, Bitcoin started to fall from its previous all-time high of $19,834.93. The price of Bitcoin started to fall for the next few years before it rebounded after the next Bitcoin halving.

For any new investor, you would expect the price of Bitcoin to rebound faster similarly to how it does in the stock market. Unfortunately, the cycle is very different. This is where you need to educate yourself to understand the Bitcoin cycle and some other basic facts.

If you haven’t guessed, the market doesn’t always act the way you want it to.

Even though the price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are at a good point to buy, there is a lot of fear in the market. The current Fear and Greed Index shows 22. The index can quickly change depending on the mood of investors and the price in the market.

To help you understand the Bitcoin cycle and get an overall feel for cryptocurrencies, sometimes you need to read about the history of Bitcoin and understand some terms that get used.

Reading an article or two will give you the current price of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, but you need to take it a step further to understand the why.

I have watched thousands of hours on YouTube and read thousands of articles about cryptocurrencies. You also need to supplement that by reading a little more on the details of Bitcoin, the history, and understanding the cryptography behind the digital currency.

Don’t worry if you’re not a coder, I am far from one myself. Even if you are not a coder, you can still invest in the market and learn some basic terms.

In no particular order, these are the books I have read along with a general description of the book.

Nine books you should add to your cryptocurrency library

Cryptocurrency Investing Guide: How to Invest in Bitcoin, DeFi, NFTs, and More

Ian Balina is the founder of Token Metrics, the YouTube channel and trading platform. He started investing in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies turning 5 figures into a million-dollar portfolio in the last bull run.

The Cryptocurrency Investing Guide covers the basic terms in cryptocurrencies and some trading strategies. It is a good book to get a general understanding of cryptocurrencies.

DeFi for the Diaspora: The Commemorative Edition: Creating the Foundation to a More Equitable and Sustainable Global Black Economy Through Decentralized Finance

Kamal Hubbard is a lawyer who has been involved in the cryptocurrency space and help policy in California and other areas.

DeFi for the Diaspora covers the good and bad history of money. The book is geared toward the African American community but don’t let that stop you from reading to understand the policies that have prevented people from building wealth. Cryptocurrencies could be the solution you are looking for.

The Sweet Life with Bitcoin: How I Stopped Worrying About Cryptocurrency and You Should Too!

Anthony Scaramucci is the founder of Skybridge Investments. He was not an early investor but after some study of the market, he entered this space. I received this book since I sent him an email after he pitched his book on Anthony Pompliano or Pomp’s YouTube’s channel.

This is a good read covering the basics of Bitcoin and Scaramucci’s decision to invest in this market. From an institutional investor’s point of view, Scaramucci gives his honest reason for entering the market.

The Crypto Trader: How anyone can make money trading Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies

Glen Goodman is a trader, and he provides some tips on making trades. He provides some good insight on what you should do when the market is doing well. Basically, Goodman says you need to take profits.

Bitcoin and Black America

Isaiah Jackson is an investor who shared his thoughts about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. He also provided an overview of the market and gives you his perspective on what Bitcoin can do for individuals.

Bitcoin Billionaires: A True Story of Genius, Betrayal, and Redemption

Ben Mezrich wrote the story of Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss who sued Facebook since they accused Mark Zuckerberg of stealing some of their ideas for the social media platform. With earnings from the lawsuit, they invested in Bitcoin.

They cover their story as early investors and personalities they came across. They also highlight the steps they took to buy bitcoin and the journey to secure their keys which is much different than today. This is an excellent book to understand the early history of Bitcoin.

Crypto-Currencies 101: How to Make a Fortune From Digital Currencies

I signed up for a plan that James Altucher ran and this book was part of it. This was the first book I bought and Altucher gives you a general overview of the market and some trading terms.

Mastering Bitcoin: Unlocking Digital Cryptocurrencies

Andres M. Antonopoulos wrote this book, and it is not an easy read if you are not a coder. For someone like myself, I have to glance over part of the book since coding is not one of my strengths.

Antonopoulos does provide you with the basics of the blockchain as well as some steps you may want to know to secure your Cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin Clarity: The Complete Beginners Guide to Understanding

Kiara Bickers found me on Twitter, and she sent me a copy of Bitcoin Clarity. I am grateful for that. Bickers’ book helps break down the complicated terms in cryptocurrency that Antonopoulos provided in his book.

She did an excellent job making difficult terms sound easy. There are difficult terms Bickers may use but she explains this so any non-coder can understand the cryptocurrency process. You will get a better understanding of Bitcoin.
