Small habits that’ll hugely impact your life.

It takes sweat and blood and dedication and hard work to make yourself happy, right? Wrong!

It takes a few right habits to turn your boring life into a happy one.

Although, the research shows that it takes 21 days to create a habit, but these are micro-habits that take a few seconds to adopt and within a week you’ll see amazing results in your life.

1. Begin your day with gratitude

You’re reading this blog because your eyes are working well. You have a phone, a home, family, friends, and you’re sitting in your cozy bedroom with a coffee cup in one hand and a mobile in the second. Isn’t this enough to be grateful for?

Currently, there are people suffering from freezing cold, food deprivation, and no home to live in. If I start giving out examples that I see daily on my commute to work, this blog won’t end. There is immense pain out there. So, make the best of what you have and be thankful for it.

Every morning, write down 10 things that you’re grateful for. These can be simple things like breathing, a healthy body, a creative mind, own home, a car, family, and friends.

Once you start counting the little blessings that GOD has given you, the world will feel like heaven to you.

2. Say ‘No’ often — it’s not rude

If your schedule is the full-on weekend, say ‘no’ to any more clients. Don’t take clients just because your friend referred them or they know your family.

It’s your life and you can decide what you want to do with it. If taking a client makes you happy do it. If you want to enjoy the weekend watching Netflix do it. But don’t say ‘yes’ to everyone knowing that you cannot deliver on time.

Do what makes you happy and say ‘no’ gently to anyone that you don’t want to accommodate.

3. Learn to enjoy your company

I’ve developed this habit recently. Each day, I spend some time alone with myself. I journal my thoughts, write a gratitude journal, read a book, or just sit on my balcony with a cup of coffee.

Spending alone time is a habit that you must master. Because there will be times in your life where no one will be there and to survive those times, you must learn to survive alone. Figure out things that make you happy and do those things in alone time.

Remove all the distractions when you spend alone time. And for a writer, creativity often strikes when you wander around aimlessly alone.

4. Stop taking things personally

Life is short, work is hard, so don’t waste your time worrying about those petty things that people say to you. Maybe they’re having a bad day, or maybe they had a bad childhood. Only GOD knows the pain that causes them to hurt other people. So, forgive them and stop taking things personally.

5. Take one step at a time

You cannot become the next millionaire in a year. There is a lot of hard work behind it. Don’t rush the process. As

Gary Vaynerchuk says, “Enjoy the process.” because once you’re at the destination, you’ll miss the hustle.

Good things take time. Take baby steps. One conversation at a time. One book at a time. One person at a time, and one business at the time.

Each day teaches you something. Learn from it and move on to the next day.

Don’t dwell on the failure. Focus on the present. Build your life one step at a time.

6. Give charity every day

I was raised in an environment where people were fond of money. Things revolved around money. But as I grew older, I realized that the more charity I gave, the more I make.

I’ve tried this countless times and it works like a magic. Whatever I earn, I give 10% t charity. And for the past 5 years, I’ve been making some good money ‘Alhamdulillaah’ — thank GOD.

Math tells us that giving away things, subtracts them. But GOD tells us that when we give away to needy people, our income grows tenfold.

And the best part is that it’s not about money, you can give charity in the form of a smile, helping someone, guiding someone. If you see something in trouble help them without expecting a favor in return. And the best form of charity is giving out in secret.

7. Write down your ideas

Unless you’re Michael Ross from Suits, you cannot remember everything that you read or think. Keep a notebook with you at all times. Write down those amazing ideas. It can be blog ideas, business ideas, startups ideas, life-altering ideas.

Quotes that made you smile, think, cry, and anything that excites you.

And for writers, gathering ideas is a vital part of creating heart-turning content.
