Mikel Arteta denied that Arsenal's loss to West Ham and Man City's subsequent strengthening of their hold on the Premier League crown was due to the stress of the title chase.

Just after halftime, Arsenal were granted a penalty after Michail Antonio was called for a handball, putting them up 2-1. However, Vn88 said that Bukayo Saka made an uncommon miss from the spot. Two minutes later, West Ham tied the game on a clever finish from Jarrod Bowen, making the delay even more expensive.

Arteta was asked by Rezence if his squad was starting to buckle under the pressure after losing points in back-to-back games "In my opinion, a team isn't under pressure when they're playing in such a relaxed manner at the outset of the game. At 2-0, we were not in any danger of losing. We failed to meet the game's requirements at that crucial juncture.

"When they scored [for West Ham], we had no say in the play-calling. It's quite challenging to win football matches after allowing two or three goals on the road. We brought this on ourselves by staying within our comfort zones."

The Gunners blew a 2-0 lead for the second consecutive game, following Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

Arteta was questioned about the possible role of weariness in their second-half meltdowns.

The man spoke thusly with W88 Rezence: "Fatigue-wise? No. Our first- and second-half output against Liverpool was comparable, and today we put in more effort in the second half than the first. Everything we did took longer than usual. No one on the team looks or seems tired. The ideal strategy is to persuade them of their own greatness while they carry out the necessary tasks.

"We got off to another fantastic start, this time dominating the game all over the field and scoring a pair of exquisite goals. After that, we made a major error and failed to play with the same intensity to get the third and fourth goals.

"That seemed too simple. And in that instant, we gave them reason to believe. Well done to West Ham, they managed to score. They continued to do what they were good at, which was to play directly with long throws and corners. It was quite difficult for us to break free of their trap. The two goals we gave up were directly attributable to poor box defense, therefore we need to improve in a wide variety of other areas if we want to win.

"To go out and eliminate an entire squad, we must adopt a murderous mentality. We have to wipe out teams whenever we have the chance to do so. Not doing so in the Premier League will inevitably lead to a reversal of fortunes.

You've got to put in work to get on the field, but keep your cool when we need you to.

Odegaard: West Ham was dead, and we made foolish decisions.

According to Vn88 Rezence, Gunners captain Martin Odegaard said his team did "dumb things" with the ball that allowed West Ham to get back into the game after they were "essentially dead."

Norwegian midfielder Henrik Larsen said his team, the Gunners, had made the same mistakes again this week.

The game got away from Arsenal for the same reasons as last week, according to Odegaard's comments to Vn88 Sports.

"We started off strong, with complete control of the game and all going according to plan. The conversation ended there.

"We satiated their desire for even a taste of the game by providing it. When all hope seemed lost, we gave them reason to believe. We're responsible for this.

"We started to make some pretty boneheaded decisions with the ball, allowing them to establish possession and play long balls while also getting plenty of throw-ins and corners to capitalize on.

"We need to make sure there won't be any issues with this. The next game is the most crucial one."

Moyes: That's a huge victory.

Dave Moyes, manager of West Ham, said to W88 Rezence "We aimed to put Arsenal under duress by being more nimble and quicker to the ball. Today, we improved upon several of our past efforts. It's time we get back to work. It was a huge turnaround considering how far down they were.

"I didn't think Arsenal posed much of a threat, so I don't think we deserved to be down 2-0. They did appear quite polished; I didn't get the impression that anyone was thinking West Ham were poor. The penalty kick was our big chance, and we took it. This gave us a chance to win again.

"Marginal gains in football. It's teeny weeny. After a strong first half, they are awarded a penalty kick. We were lucky with the missed penalty, and I had high hopes for a third goal."
