I asked my friend if he had any of the same printers and he had: Bluesax SX-125 (a grid of 20 single labels), Fontcraft Five (label feeders in a grid of 5 with a printer per feeder), and more. I set up the rest of the printers I had as test printers for him and he installed the drivers. I setup static IPs for his printers using DHCP in my internal network. We tested printing and everything was working perfectly. Then I connected him to the same network as my other printers and he tried to print to them. Everything was fine and he even printed to his SS-108 print server that I had installed just for him. I went back over the configurations and traced where the issue was. It was in the Bartender toolbar. I found the application was trying to contact an IP address (we called it the "Bartender address") but it was not being loaded from the Bartender folder.
I found that for some reason, when I installed Bartender, it downloaded a malicious ocx file from a server on the internet. Apparently, the malicious file was identified as a malware loader and this started causing problems. The OS would uninstall Bartender for no reason. I found that if I removed the malicious files, Bartender would uninstall on its own sometimes and other times it would just start acting buggy. I tried uninstalling numerous versions of Bartender, including 10.0.0 SR4, 10.0.0 SR5, 10.0.0 SR 6, and even PowerShell and then reinstalled each version until one version worked for me without any problems. I had to restore the shutdown rules in the firewall for my network to get Bartender to print to the printers.
This was a very frustrating experience, and I had to be very careful and wary of what I was installing. Bartender used to be 30MB or less - and it's now over 200MB. My network connection speed is around 100MB so it takes half of a hour or longer to download Bartender. So, I recommend you do some research before you spend the $13 it costs. I researched other options and called up Bartender support and they couldn't find anything that would fix the problem. a0fb89163a
