For people who aren't coders
At this point, you're probably thinking this is another of those blockchain articles that say after reading this you'd understand how blockchain works and they end up doing nothing but getting you more confused than you already were.
So instead of Being all Develo-py about this concept, I will explain it the same way I explained it to my mom.
But first, we would have to start from the reason behind blockchain and why it even exists in the first place, Currently we are heralding the beginning of the new phase of the internet: Web3 (The decentralized web).
The arrival of this new phase is totally out of our control and it would be best to understand why we're here and how this benefits the internet as a whole and also how we can take advantage of this new phase of the internet.
The current data infrastructure we have is based on what monarchy looks like, there's a "King server" and we're all his subjects, if per-adventure this said King server gets attacked by let's say, his jealous brother and gains control over his kingdom, the whole country would be in disarray and this would affect we the citizens at large, we could lose our positions in the society while he puts his people in power,
You're probably wondering what does all of this have to do with blockchain, well simply put blockchain solves this problem of centralized weakness where one entity holds too much power and in the case of an attack this entity or this case-a server- would be the central point of failure thereby putting the whole system in jeopardy.
So how does blockchain solve this problem? The Blockchain uses an infrastructure where instead of the data being stored in one central server, it is stored in blocks which are then distributed to computers connected to this network. these computers are then updated in real-time if any changes are made to the system.
So there we go, you now understand what a blockchain does and how this technology would revolutionize our lives in general as it can be applied to a lot of use cases ranging from politics to supply chain logistics even in our daily lives as this would change how we interact with the internet and technology in general.
