however, as with all sports games, the longevity factor is likely to be less than ideal. this isn't because the game is very short, but rather that it doesn't really have much to offer in terms of variety. the various cricketing situations are all very similar, and while the batting and bowling actions have been overhauled for the pc version, the changes are little more than cosmetic. its true that the pc version has additional modes, but you can only play those modes in offline mode, which makes no sense when you're expecting to play online against other human opponents.
in short, it feels like ea's only got room for minor tweaks to the core mechanics. for a game that wants to be taken seriously its not a great look for an organisation that's currently being investigated by the uk's office of fair trading. even so, the game remains a lot of fun to play and is more than capable of satisfying the needs of most casual cricket fans. just make sure to play it after a few pints.
