Who has been the biggest influence in your life? What lessons did that person or those people teach you?

From the perspective of my craft, two of the biggest influences in my life are Stan Lee and Peter Jackson. Both of them taught me to view art from the perspective of the creator, and to appreciate the one telling the story.

From a more personal standpoint, my parents are the two biggest influences in my life, who helped shape the person I am today.

Tell us about your childhood, what was the best part? Is there any specific incident that has largely influenced the kind of person you are today?

I had a really good childhood, raised by two loving and supporting parents. They instilled in me a great sense of right and wrong, and a compassion for other people.

My father specifically loved to show me movies, and it was through him that I came to love the art of film.

Where is your hometown, and what was it like when you were young?

I grew up in Georgetown, Massachusetts. It’s a small town with not a ton to do, other than go visit other neighboring towns.

How important a role does content play in your life? Are you a full-time content creator? Why did you start creating content?

Content plays a huge role in my life. I’ve been creating content pretty much since I’ve been cognizant. As a young kid, I always wrote stories, even writing an entire novel in the fifth grade. As I’ve grown older, the way that I create content has evolved. Now I write screenplays, make YouTube videos, and create short films.

What’s that one aspect of being a content creator no one talks about?

You don’t always find an audience. You can spend years and years developing something, trying your best to make it interesting and engaging, and you may never get more than a few people interested in it. As long as you enjoy doing it, that is completely okay.

What’s the most satisfying part of being a content creator?

When someone simply tells you they appreciate your content, that can mean the world. Whatever the content may be, if someone says that they saw it and enjoyed it, that is incredibly satisfying.

What are you up to currently and what are your long-term career goals?

My ultimate goal is to write and direct movies. Right now, I am finishing up pre-production on a new short film, which I’ll be shooting in January. I am incredibly excited to make this project.

What drives you to create content regularly?

I am a very creative person, and I always feel a need to express my creativity in some fashion. If I’m not creating something or making something, I feel like I’m not using my time well. Whether it’s for a professional reason or just something I do for fun, I always want to be making something.

What’s the most challenging part of being a content creator?

The most challenging part of creating content is the time it takes to do it right. If you really want to do something and do it right, it takes an incredible amount of time and effort.

Usually, that time and effort is worth it, but it can be entirely draining to continuously be making content.

How do you make sure that you aren’t affected by nasty comments and negative things said about you?

I get a big kick out of people taking time out of their day to write something nasty about me, some random guy that has no following whatsoever. If you’re spending your time attacking me, then I know you’re doing anything worthwhile whatsoever.

Anything else you would like our audience to know about you!

I just really enjoy writing, whether it’s writing about movies, or writing movies.

How would you want people to remember you?

First and foremost as someone who is kind and cares about others. Secondly, as someone who always worked hard to do what they love and were passionate about.

What's success for you and when you would consider yourself to be successful?

My ultimate goal is to be a writer/director in Hollywood making movies. But I wouldn’t say I can’t have a successful life if that isn’t what I ultimately end up doing.

As long as I feel happy and content, and have a circle of people I love and care about, who also love and care about me, then I will have been successful.

Who’s your favorite creator? Why?

Two of my favorite creators are Peter Jackson and John Carpenter, both of which came from an independent filmmaking background.

They started off making dirt cheap films, but did it because they loved the craft. They both let their passion fuel them as they pressed on and both achieved their own versions of greater success.

To every individual who’s planning to start out as a content creator, what would you like to advise them?

Simply create content because you want to create content. Don’t do it just because you want it to be your career. Don’t do it just because you have a specific end goal for it.

Those are good things to have in mind, but don’t have that be your only reason for creating content. Create it because you want to create it, and because you love to create. If other opportunities come from that, it’s only a bonus.

Few maintain consistency, few remain unique, and fewer are the ones who do both of these right, and earn a spot in Tealfeed Spotlight.
