In this series “Creators Spotlight”, we are asking our creators about their journey. Watch out for them sharing their journey and getting candid with us.

Today we have with us, Dennise Heckman. A full-time content creator who once wanted to be an actress on a cruise boat, Dennise shares about her childhood and the driving forces that guided her to the path of a content creator.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life? What lessons did that person, or those people teach you?

It would be difficult to choose one big influence in my life because I have been fortunate to have many. The characteristics that they all have in common are that they are strong, independent females that are excellent storytellers and communicators. My mother and grandmother, my elementary art teacher, my criticism professor in college, and a recent writing mentor.  

Tell us about your childhood, what was the best part? Is there any specific incident that has largely influenced the kind of person you are today?

My childhood was focused on family, school, creativity inside me and around me, swim team, and an assortment of pets. I wanted to be an actress on a cruise boat!

Where is your hometown, and what was it like when you were young?

My hometown is in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. It is a family-oriented community of people that enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking and sports. Education is very important as well as health and home.

How important a role does content play in your life? Are you a full-time content creator? Why did you start creating content?

Writing content is a creative outlet for me and permits me to thoroughly sort and process information. I am a part-time content creator and started when I was very young and found a topic so fascinating,

I couldn’t resist researching and writing content about it.

What’s that one aspect of being a content creator no one talks about?

The writing phase is when you feel like a scattered mess and your content is disorganized.

What’s the most satisfying part of being a content creator?

The thrill of taking a deep dive into a topic that you are about to write about.

What are you up to currently and what are your long-term career goals?

Coaching, mentoring, writing curriculum, and content. To help as many people as I can while doing what I love.

What drives you to create content regularly?

It’s a creative drive that needs to be satisfied for me to feel productive and utilize my research and writing skills.

What’s the most challenging part of being a content creator?

Finding time to do the research and writing.

How do you make sure that you aren’t affected by nasty comments and negative things said about you?

This is difficult because ultimately, we care what others think of our contributions.

But, staying focused on why we are contributing, and those readers that will benefit and appreciate our content is a reason to keep creating.

I taught high school art for 17 years and then dappled in selling real estate!

Why did you start creating content on Tealfeed?

I was invited to write content on Tealfeed through a connection on a social platform and I thought, “Now, here is a really neat platform providing valuable content to a varied audience of genuinely interested readers. I should contribute!”

How would you want people to remember you?

For creating engaging and unique content that provokes new interests in readers.

What's success for you and when you would consider yourself to be successful?

I will consider myself a success when I can support myself through coaching and content writing. Not quite there yet, but close!
