Creators are the heart and soul of Tealfeed. As they continuously work towards feeding us more information every day, it's only fitting to bring out their journey for the world to know.

In this series “Creators Spotlight”, we are asking our creators about their journey. Watch out for them sharing their journey and getting candid with us.

Today we have with us Tavian Jean-Pierre. Tavian was born and raised in London, and his family are from the beautiful island Saint Lucia. He went on to then study Aerospace Engineering in Bristol to begin his journey as a modern-day polymath.

Continue reading to find out more about him.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life? What lessons did that person or those people teach you?

My great grandmother has been the greatest influence in my life. She equipped me with an unshakeable philosophy concerning fulfilment.

She believed that we must achieve a point in our lives where to want more would be greed. So now, my definition of fulfilment is the point where your desire for more would be considered greed.

Tell us about your childhood, what was the best part? Is there any specific incident that has largely influenced the kind of person you are today?

My childhood was rough. I came from a single-parent household and many of the things I saw my mother go through made me more resilient. My best childhood memory is seeing my mother work extremely hard to grant me a trip to see Elmo as a child.

My mother did not have any money, but her love for me drove her to achieve the impossible. Since my mother had me at 16 years of age, one of the life-changing moments in my life was seeing my young mother struggle up the stairs with a bag shopping whilst pregnant with my little sister.

There was no man there to help her, and we lived in a poor area where people would have stolen her shopping. Seeing my mother struggle gave me the drive to want more from life.

Where is your hometown, and what was it like when you were young?

My home town is London. When I was younger, London was a wonderful and diverse place to live in. Thanks to that, I was able to find other young boys just like me.

What are you up to currently and what are your long-term career goals?

I am currently completing a degree in Aerospace Engineering and I write as a hobby. In the future, I hope to complete a Masters in Business Analytics and then a PhD in Organisational Behaviour at the University of Cambridge. I hope to become a lecturer and an author in the areas of Philosophy, Economics and Psychology.

What drives you to create content regularly?

My drive to create content regularly is to create an impact by inspiring others through knowledge to create new ideas for better solutions for their life and profession.

What’s that one aspect of being a content creator no one talks about?

The one aspect no one talks about is the pressure we are under to show up for ourselves. Creating content is hard enough, but repeatedly showing up for your followers is a pressure that we all feel.

When we do show up, we do not just show up for ourselves, we show up for those who find hope and joy in our content.

What’s the most satisfying part of being a content creator?

The most satisfying part of my work is seeing the impact it has on others. Many people reach out to me and say thank you for my work. Knowing that I am making a difference in people's life motivates me to keep going.

What’s the most challenging part of being a content creator?

Being consistent is the most challenging part of being a content creator. Many of us do not create content full time, so when life gets in the way, it can be hard to remain consistent for your followers.

How would you want people to remember you?

I would like people to remember me as an intellectual who sought to pursue knowledge as a means to bring about the betterment of society through the creation of new ideas.

How do you make sure that you aren’t affected by nasty comments and negative things said about you?

A lot of the time, I respond to negative comments with positivity. I let the person know that their opinion is valued and that I value the fact that they took the time to read my content and comment.

Responding with positivity often defuses the situation. However, if these comments are abusive, I tend to ignore them.

Why did you start creating content on Tealfeed?

Tealfeed is a new emerging platform, and I saw it as an opportunity to help shape the culture for content creation for the future.

What's success for you and when you would consider yourself to be successful?

Success for me is when I have made enough impact in the world through my ideas. And my definition of success is when one has accomplished a version of themselves at which they believe to do any more would lead to unsatisfaction.

Who’s your favourite creator?

Darius Foroux is one of my favourite content creators because he takes the reader on a journey of his progression. From his articles, you can see his constantly learning and seeking to educate others alongside him.

To every individual who’s planning to start out as a content creator, what would you like to advise them?

I would advise ensuring that you are patient. The world of content creation is growing, and that brings many positives. However, it is not as easy to just create good content. If you can learn to be patient and wait for the results you seek to see, you will do well in content creation.

Few maintain consistency, few remain unique, and fewer are the ones who do both of these right, and earn a spot in Tealfeed Spotlight.
