Years ago, I used to avoid “Leadership “ and everything related to it. In this regard, all I could do was walking away, absconding, and lying countless times, especially in my essays at college.

I used to pretend as if I’m aware enough and entirely comprehend the idea of being a leader. However, starting to fit into positions that require leadership capabilities and skills, I began to feel it, see it, then internalized its significance. This article tackles this issue in the form of three questions.

Question 1 / Are we natural leaders?

Personally, yes! Everyone is practicing leadership, but in various ways, many people don’t even know they are leading!! A father is a leader, a mother, a teacher, a doctor, a shop owner, and even a driver, for instance.

Leadership is not restricted to those who have superiority upon their inferiors, each one of us is a leader because we lead ourselves by ourselves, even when we don’t realize that under several conditions. Every single person in this universe practices a far cry leadership style from the other.

Question 2 / Who is the best leader?

One might state, “well, the best leader is the one who should control and master everything, he needs to be decisive and serious all the time.”

There is no such concept as a “perfect leader,” great leadership starts with a self-leadership, leading oneself first before going out and leading others. Practicing self-leadership can be accomplished through realizing it first, suddenly it will be natural for the personality to figure out the style suits it the best.

If you look to lead, invest at least 40% of your time managing yourself — your ethics, character, principles, purpose, motivation, and conduct. Invest at least 30% managing those with authority over you, and 15% managing your peers.

As an example, there are many bad things in life (e.g., cheating, injustice, having a naggy woman, etc.), a long list. However, the most important thing on this list is dealing with a BAD boss.

People agree that one of the worst situations in life is to have a bossy boss, and he is always full of temper. Albeit, he knows that he is unlovable, he continues to be in this state because he believes this behavior is the only way he can manage his business.

Question 3 / What type of leader do you prefer?

Subjectively, I would favor a leader who has assistants, who truly listen to them and consider their notes, the one who stands as a facilitator rather than a director. Also, the most surpassing leader is the one who is advancing progressively and acquiring new thoughts through trials and errors.

That is why it’s just like a game, games have new constant updates from time to time. Likewise, leadership, if a person is adaptable enough, he/she is an extraordinary leader, an exceptional character deserves to be followed by people.

Having taken the points above into consideration, dealing with various mentalities and behaviors will be a prominent resource to learn from. Instead of avoiding leadership, a person should take the risk and play this deceptive game because, in the end, this game will benefit you and make your character more adaptable.
