Who has been the biggest influence in your life?

There have been many people who have inspired me throughout the years, particularly artists, musicians, and creators of Art. Michael Jackson, Whodini, Quincy Jones, Kanye West, A Tribe Called Quest are some of the most inspiring personalities.

They’ve all shown me the way to be fearless, and to never take away the integrity of your art no matter what.

Tell us about your childhood, what was the best part? Is there any specific incident that has largely influenced the kind of person you are today?

Born in Queens, I moved with my family to Atlanta as a teenager. My parents were in the entertainment and travel industry. At the age of 16, I began self teaching myself how to craft music production which led to my first publishing contract with Sony. Shortly after that, I attended Art Institute of Atlanta where I earned a bachelor's degree in audio production.

I was exposed to almost all genres of music and it gave me a different perspective and a bigger appreciation for music. The best part was going to record stores every weekend to buy albums and learn about musicians I’ve never heard about.

Hanging out along Jamaica Avenue was amongst the culture at that time. Being able to meet one of my idols Michael Jackson was definitely a huge moment that changed a lot of things for me.

Where is your hometown, and what was it like when you were young?

Queens, New York. It was and still is a very fast city with a lot of cultural influence.

How important a role does content play in your life? Are you a full-time content creator? Why did you start creating content?

Content is important. It’s like the soundtrack that outlines one's story in different aspects. It can also be a way to express your art, be it Music, Painting, Sculpting, etc.

I want to keep creating because it's therapeutic for me and helps me feel alive.

Tell us when was that instant when you decided to become an Instagram creator. What made you opt Instagram?

I joined Instagram about 8 years ago. Once I learned the backend of the app and how algorithms work, I tailored my content around that. I was looking for a platform where I could tell people about my life through my work, and Instagram was a perfect fit for me to do that.

What’s that one aspect of being a content creator no one talks about?

Not a lot of people talk about the importance of patience to succeed in the content industry. Also, it's challenging to decide what should content creators be charging for a piece of content as there's no guide exists to help the newbies.

What’s the most satisfying part of being a content creator?

We as creators mostly create art for ourselves and to get appreciated by the public for your efforts is definitely one of the most satisfying aspects of being a content creator for me.

What are you up to currently and what are your long-term career goals?

I am currently working on completing my debut album. Documentaries, Tv shows, and films are what I am planning to get more involved in from a long term perspective.

What drives you to create content regularly?

The very concept of how life works is what drives me. Things happen on a daily that we don't have control over and that's the beauty of life. I see beauty in things that could inspire me to create and enhance the quality of my content.

What’s the most challenging part of being a content creator?

The lack of sleep and comfort, and the huge patience to wait for success are some of the most challenging aspects of being a content creator.

How do you make sure that you aren’t affected by nasty comments and negative things said about you?

I just ignore them. I keep negative energy away from me as much as I can.

How would you want people to remember you?

Just someone who inspired the world, someone who stayed true to himself, and loved his craft.

James Worthy

What's success for you and when you would consider yourself to be successful?

Success to me is feeling fulfilled in my craft. It's not always about numbers or funds. It's about who you’ve touched with your art. I feel like I have been achieving that throughout the years which is a blessing.

To every individual who’s planning to start out as a content creator, what would you like to advise them?

Study your art, your craft, the art landscapes of what others are doing, and figure out how to carve your own lane.
