Director's Desk --> General Head Honors Coordinator: Dr. Almas Moussa is the head honours coordinator of Maths at PES. He is a prolific academic, teacher, and researcher. He has over twenty years of teaching experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, IT, and Engineering. He has authored several research publications, most recently Algorithms for Elementary Cyber Security. He is also a frequent conference speaker on cyber security topics. Almas is also the head of the Operation Education project for the Institute for Cyber Engineering and Education at PES, an interdisciplinary research laboratory with the mandate to increase STEM and cyber security education in Palestinian Higher Education.
The first step for the development of the departmental schedule is to understand how many large lecture rooms are available and what the capacities of these spaces are. To do this, a breakdown of the large lecture room capacities is required. This breakdown is determined by a number of factors, including the need for that size space, the number of students that can be accommodated in the room simultaneously, and the number of students that will require time in that room that cannot be accommodated by another class.
During the scheduling process, it is imperative that students of other classes be accommodated in the remaining spaces. The consideration of the students that are accommodated in the remaining available large lecture spaces is essential to the development of the schedules. This process begins with the development of the departmental schedules, and continues with the utilization of the schedules to inform decisions on other, smaller, spaces.
