Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, has revealed how much he personally owns in the parody cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE to INR).

What Happened: Cuban, a vocal supporter of Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies, revealed on Twitter that he owned $494 in Dogecoin. Based on Dogecoin's current pricing of $0.3360, the holdings total around 1,470 dogecoins.

The Mavs have what we sold in merch. I personally own $494 worth of DOGE

Fans of the world's most valuable cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), used Cuban's announcement as an opportunity to mock his Dogecoin holdings.

A Twitter user accused Cuban of joining the Doge bandwagon solely to increase his following.

wtf you were on a roll up until this. $494? Practice what you preach. How could you have significant holdings in TITAN but only hold $494 in DOGE?Feels like your jumping on the doge bandwagon just to boost your following

Another Bitcoin supporter stated that Cuban was "wise enough" not to invest $494,000 on Dogecoin.

No, he means exactly that. $494 @mcuban is smart enough to not put in $494k. Like he said, he’s just having fun with it and the community. #doge is fun, and so is the community. Fun doesn’t = a sound investment. Money put into doge is different than any other expense.

The Dallas Mavericks began accepting Dogecoin as payment for Mavs tickets and merchandise in March. Cuban stated in April that Maverick's Dogecoin sales increased by more than 550 percent over the previous month.

In an interview with CNBC on Friday, the “Shark Tank” investor stated that Dogecoin is the most powerful cryptocurrency as a medium of trade.

In May, Cuban stated that he feels Dogecoin has the potential to become a useful currency if more businesses use the meme cryptocurrency for their products and services.

As a writer and copywriter, I've recently focused on making blockchain more accessible to those who are unfamiliar with the technology. As someone who has been around for a while, I understand how difficult it can be to avoid technical jargon when explaining any blockchain concept.
