What do I need to sign up for the Agile Coach Academy?

You need actual working experience and practice as a Scrum Master in a working environment. The Agile Coach Academy is designed to help you overcome the challenges you currently face and teach you how to think as an Agile coach. We don’t cover basic concepts of Scrum at all. You are expected to know the Scrum Guide and have achieved a certification such as the Certified Scrum Master course.

You need experience.

The idea behind the Agile Coach Academy is that it is designed to help you through your apprenticeship as both a coach and an Agile coach.

That means that we will be working on more advanced scrum concepts, techniques, tools, models and frameworks throughout the programmes.

You will be bringing your challenges to the workshops and we will actively be helping you to think through those challenges, providing context and learning where necessary, and coaching you through those challenges.

We need you to be actively engaged in the material and have a working environment where you can actively practice what you learn in the Academy. As you deploy and implement what you have learned in your working environment, we will be exploring the impact of those decisions and how they help you advance in your practice as a scrum master and agile coach.

You will also be learning from the experiences of others. As they share their war stories and speak about how they have overcome challenges in their working environments, you will be actively learning from them and their experiences.

We do teach on the Agile Coach Academy where it makes sense to do so but it is more of a coaching and mentoring environment.

Our coaches have worked on some of the largest and most complex agile transformations in the UK and Europe and will be bringing their own war stories, learning and recommendations to the academy.

As you explore more advanced Scrum and Agile concepts, you will have a greater understanding of how Agile values and principles work in the context of complex environments.

Whilst this course is designed for beginners, you do need to be actively working as a Scrum Master or Agile coach for you to derive value from the experience.

The Agile Coach Academy will also give you an opportunity to practice some of the tools, models and frameworks within the cohort. Everybody is there to learn and gain from the experience so it is a safe place for you to have a crack at coaching and facilitation.

We do provide a 50% discount on any Agile Centre course if you are a member of the Agile Coach Academy so if you want to attend an Advanced Certified Scrum Master course or Certified Scrum Professional Scrum Master course, you’re going to have an opportunity to do just that.

We didn’t have time for Governance!

We believe certification is a great way to validate your skills and demonstrate that you have the necessary capabilities to potential clients and recruiters and we love the Scrum Alliance certification tracks for that so feel free to visit those course pages.

The most important thing you need to sign up for the Agile Coach Academy is an open mindset and a hunger to learn new concepts, tools, and techniques that will empower you as both a scrum master and an Agile Coach.

We have people on the Academy programs that have over a decades’ worth of experience in the field and you will find that you are growing your network of like-minded individuals. People who embrace learning and growing in their field.

It takes roughly 18 months for you to graduate from the Agile Coach Academy as a professional Agile coach but you are welcome to continue in the Academy as your actively practice in the field as both a professional scrum master and agile coach.

There is always new opportunities to learn, grow and practice within the cohorts and we find that people often remain in the academy for up to 3 years before progressing into mentoring circles that help them progress to mastery.
