I have Netapp cH14, cH10, cH10-2P4, cH14-2P4, cH14-4P4, cH10-4P4, cH10-10P4, cH10-20P4, cH14-20P4, cH14-40P4, cH10-40P4, cH10-60P4, cH14-60P4, cH14-80P4, cH10-100P4, cH14-100P4, cH10-120P4, cH14-120P4, cH10-140P4, cH14-140P4, cH10-180P4, cH14-180P4, cH10-220P4, cH14-220P4, cH14-260P4, cH10-280P4, cH10-320P4, cH14-320P4, cH10-360P4. They are used for Persistent Datasets, RAID-Z and ARRAYs. The above models mentioned are 2-Packer models that have 4 hard drives inside instead of 2. There are also 2-Packer models that are 4-Packer models that have 8 hard drives inside instead of 4. A list of all available models can be seen below :
Interestingly none of the web based search results for me included NetApp's comment at the end of the results page, which says that the results come from the Google cache, this is either bad SEO strategy or ineffective product support and it is unsure which. If you have this issue, I suggest you type in "site:netapp.com download".
To my dismay, in my situation, not only did I not want to spend $2000(!) to acquire this off of Amazon, but I was told that Netapp only supports Linux through their dedicated support. Scrapping all hope and spending $2000, I chose to try something else.Amazon does allow the virtualization manager to work with all versions of OS X and Linux, albeit with varying functionality.
Ok, at this point I could have completed the test, however there were two bugs that I would like to report. I wasnt happy with that in my opinion they werent NetApp bugs but customer support was not very cooperative. One of the things that they did not want to confirm was that the VNOP was a false positive (something not ready for production). The problem is, I had not followed the docu exactly to the T and they do have sections on 'false positive cases' within the FM-series FM40 guide. The other issue was that I was using a Windows 10 system and I had not enabled NTFS as a writeable file system. If you do this, then the step that checks the filesystems of disks that are in writeable mode will not work. This is another example of why a Windows 10 system is not a very good choice for this type of test. The support engineers were agreeable to the fact that I had not enabled NTFS but continued to insist that the VNOP was a false positive. (FYI, VNOP is not a false positive)This post will cover a few basic settings you should have enabled while the cluster was out. The first was to enable a replication of the OneFS volume on the secondary site. For this you must enable OneFS in the OneFS settings. If you dont then I believe that this feature will become active at some point in time.I also had to change the /opt/netapp/oncommand/bin/oncommand file. This will prevent the cluster from automatically kicking in on failure. A docu does exists for this, however, the quote from it above has not been translated into english. So here is how you do it! 2516d825b2
