It’s no secret that whether it's a full-time gig or a side hustle, being a content creator is a great role for someone who is creative and has an entrepreneurial spirit.

While there are many upsides to growing your own brand and creating content on behalf of brands, the industry is quickly evolving and so you need to be able to pivot and adapt.

Chloe Morgan, a full-time content creator and an award-winning DJ, talks about her journey and shares her journey from overcoming eating disorders to launching her first solo music video.

Here‘s Chloe!

Who has been the biggest influence in your life? What lessons did that person or those people teach you?

Overall God has influenced me the most because no matter what other influences came along good or bad, God still lead me through them all. There have been certain people who have impacted me to make better choices.

I’m also thankful for the people who taught me some of the hardest lessons because even though it was painful or difficult at the time it made me have to look deeper inside myself and increase awareness and understanding.

Tell us about your childhood, what was the best part? Is there any specific incident that has largely influenced the kind of person you are today?

I had a very eventful childhood growing up. I was on stage from the age of 5 and always knew who I was going to be. I also dealt with a lot of trauma growing up as well, which really shaped the person I am today.

At the age of 14, I began developing an eating disorder that took hold of my life for over a decade. Overcoming that issue has greatly influenced the kind of person I am today because I realized if I could overcome that, I can overcome anything.

Where is your hometown, and what was it like when you were young?

I was born in Havering, London but my hometown is in Chelmsford, Essex in the UK because that’s where I actually grew up. It was definitely a fun place to be and was also quite grounding for me. Some of my closest friends and family still live there.

From a young age, I was always going up to London for auditions and training for the stage. Then when I was 16, I was awarded with a scholarship to the London Studio Centre, which is when I moved to London.

How important a role does content play in your life? Are you a full-time content creator? Why did you start creating content?

I would say content is important because it is an expression of what I do. Yes, I’m full-time in my field. I started creating because I’m an artist and I showcase my art through film, music, photography etc. It’s my way to share my gifts and talents with the world.

Tell us when was that instant when you decided to become an Instagram creator. What made you opt Instagram?

I’ve been on Instagram from the beginning but I didn’t become serious about it in a professional manner and develop a good understanding until about a couple of years ago.

What’s that one aspect of being a content creator no one talks about?

Your work doesn’t have to be 100% perfect, it is better to be 70% great and get it out there, otherwise, you will always be waiting on an unachievable goal to happen because perfection does not exist.

It’s all a learning curve and a way to continually grow and evolve.

What’s the most satisfying part of being a content creator?

I really appreciate seeing the growth happen, that feels satisfying as you look back and see how far you have come.

How much support has your family been in your journey?

My family has been very supportive, there have definitely been some challenges and setbacks along the way (which I believe are more setups than setbacks) and my family has seen it all. My Mother is probably my number 1 fan!

What are you up to currently and what are your long-term career goals?

I just released my first single and music video “Stars” which has been the main focus lately. I’m also about to start my own weekly radio show at DJRADIO.ca (with iheart radio) and the first show airs on Saturday, October 9 @1pm PST.

Long-term career goals, for now, would be to establish myself in music as a household name, tour, and be on the radio worldwide.

What drives you to create content regularly?

Continually being current and developing my brand.

What’s the most challenging part of being a content creator?

Sometimes feeling stuck for content, can happen sometimes.

How do you make sure that you aren’t affected by nasty comments and negative things said about you?

I always delete anything like that, there is no need for that to be there it’s wasted time and energy.

I forgive it, pray for the person and keep it moving, there’s no need to get stuck there.

Anything else you would like our audience to know about you!

I’m also a mother to a beautiful little girl, which is my other full-time job!

How would you want people to remember you?

For being an uplifter and encourager. Someone with true heart and soul for people.

What's success for you and when you would consider yourself to be successful?

Success isn’t a destination, it’s a journey. I believe success starts by loving who you are and have been created to be. Walking in your true light and calling.

Success is being well-rounded and finding balance in all areas such as faith, family, friends, field, finances, fitness, fun, etc.

Who’s your favorite influencer? Why?

My favorite influencer right now would have to be Marcus Rogers because he is such a bold soldier for God and he really inspired me to be more bold and fearless about my faith.

To every individual who’s planning to start out as a content creator, what would you like to advise them?

To be yourself, there is no point trying to be like anyone else, that person is taken already! Find out exactly who you are and do that thing that makes you uniquely you.
