Q: GAE Service how to microthread using Python and Flask? Based on this SO question, I wrote a service using Python and Flask. The service has to do some computation and sends it to the client. The computation will take about 10s to complete. Thus, I decide to migrate to GAE and put the flask server side a microthread so that the flask server can receive a request after the computation is finished. However, after I move to GAE, I found the instance could spawn many microthreads, each doing the same computation. I understand that if a function is too long or about to take a long time, we should put it to microthread. However, I’m not sure how to tell microthread in Python to run on a specific CPU. When I submit my service to App Engine, I specify the instance has a single CPU. The computation for my service is: timeout = 3 while not exit_flag: time.sleep(1) while not quit: if time.time() > start_time + 2.5: exit_flag = True if start_time > time.time(): quit = True And I microthread the computation by this code: from multiprocessing. a0fb89163a
