Today, there are many communication applications, but slack stands out with its simple interface and ability to perform many operations at the same time. Let’s talk about these properties:

Separate Channel for Each ConversationYou can open channels according to business branches in Slack. For example; software, research, design, article, mobile, etc. In the form of channels, team members can exchange information among themselves or share information about that topic. These channels can be set open or private to all team members.

Drag dropSlack, which is faster than email, offers you a mailing environment similar to Skype and WhatsApp. You can share all your files, images, PDFs, documents, and spreadsheets by dragging and dropping on the app. It is among the most preferred applications due to its speed and reliability.

Archiving and SearchIn the free version, it has the ability to archive up to 10,000 messages, search and go back in these messages.

Voice and Video ChatMany voice and video calling platforms are available today. However, it is possible to control your data and chat in the same interface with this application.

How to Use Slack

You can download the application, which can be used with all computers, tablets, and smartphones, free of charge from the application’s website in accordance with your device. To start using it, visit the official website and complete the registration process.

To create a team, simply go to Slack’s mobile app or website, enter your e-mail address and press the Create New Team button. Then you must enter the 6-digit password sent to your e-mail. After you enter the password, you enter the team name, type, and your team’s slack address, and your team, that is, your Slack page, is created.

In addition, the founder of the workspace can edit the channels, applications to be integrated, and work rules since he or she will have administrator authority. After creating a workspace, you can invite your teammates, create channels as you wish, or privately message your teammates.

There are two different methods to become a member of a slack team. The most used one is to be invited by the team owner or admins. You will receive an invitation email after being invited. When you open Mail, press the Join Team button and you must specify a username after entering your name and surname on the page that appears. Say Next, enter a password for yourself and say join the team. You can now start using Slack. Another way to become a member of the team is to send a request to the founder or admin. The point to be noted here is that people with Hotmail, Gmail extension local mail cannot perform this operation. Only non-local addresses are allowed.

In the web and desktop versions of the application, the main menu is located on the left. There are Channels, Direct Messages, and Apps sections. The other part is the messaging screen. Incoming channels and direct messages are displayed here.

The Android version, on the other hand, has the classic messaging app appearance. When you touch the workspace picture at the top, the left menu opens and the above options are presented.

Emojis can be used in messages. One of the best features of messaging is the mention feature. If you want the relevant person to read it in a chat on the channel, that person will receive an immediate warning when your message is sent by putting “@” at the beginning of their name.

By sharing your status on the application, you can let your teammates know that you are in a meeting, on a trip, or at work.
