You'll escape a lot of troubles if you keep things moderate. That is, by not doing too little or too much of just anything in life.

I learnt this the hard way.

I learned the hard way

Being a perfectionist, I found fault with almost every little thing with my girlfriend when started coming around for the weekend.

"Babes, how many times do I have to tell you that you have to press the toothpaste from the bottom and not from the side?!"

"That's not the right way to arrange those books. I have told you before now."

"Hun, do you know it annoys me when you chew biscuits with your mouth open?"

One day, she was fed up.

"Josh, do you know you complain too much? You complain about little and insignificant things I do.

I'm not free anymore around you. And I don't like it, babes.

Please don't kill the love I have for you.

She stood up and left my house.

I felt broken when she left\ PEXEL

I had to apologize to her and promised never to be too critical. She accepted my apologies, and we got back again.

Since then, she is freer with me. Sometimes even ask me to watch her take her bath or use the toilet.

We’ve had some of the most amazing and memorable moments ever.

I learnt a fat lesson

Anything taken to the extreme becomes poisonous.

There is nothing wrong with correcting your partner. I mean, it is good we are corrected being that we’re not perfect humans. But then there is what’s called taking correction to the extreme. That is not healthy in a romantic relationship.

It could poison the love life.

My advice is that you don’t over flog the little things. Instead, you should ignore them. And then when you correct, do it with love. Your partner will be more willing to make those corrections.

Okay?

Alright, I have to run now. My girlfriend wants me to watch her mop the floor.

Happy weekend,

Bye.
