The woman who turned down a Rs.1 crore job offer to build a business worth more than 3000crores!!

HERE'S THE STORY OF VINEETA SINGH, THE FOUNDER OF SUGAR COSMETICS

With more than 2 million followers on Instagram, the journey to Sugar Cosmetics has not been easy for Vineeta. She has been the epitome to showcase that, risks that are taken with sheer determination and are well thought out, are worth taking.

After completing her education at India's prestigious institutions IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad, Singh bagged a Rs.1 crore job offer from a leading investment bank. However, she declined the offer to follow her passion and decided to dive into the world of entrepreneurship.

Singh's initial business venture, Quetzela, which was a background verification service for recruiters, failed miserably in 2007. But as Martin King Luther Jr once remarked, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose finite hope”, Singh didn't give up on her dreams. In 2012 when the e-commerce was booming with opportunities, Singh seized the wave. She started Fab Bag, A monthly subscription service that provided women with a variety of beauty goods for a minimal charge. In 9 years, Fab Bag amassed more than 2,00,000 customers. The women on this platform shared their problems, and that's when Singh realized the gap in Indian Cosmetic Industry, she realized that the products available in the market didn't cater to the needs of Indian skin tones and that's it, there was no looking back after that.

Today, Sugar has a physical presence across 2500+ outlets in over 130 cities across India. Recently they also acquired rights from Warner Bros and launched their SUGAR X WONDER WOMAN collection which received immense love, support and popularity. Additionally, Singh served as a judge on the Shark Tank, a reality television series in India.

She demonstrates that achieving a goal requires hard effort, perseverance, and enthusiasm rather than magic.
