The San Francisco 49ers will play host to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday in a crucial showdown between NFL contenders from Levi's Stadium. The last time these two teams squared off back in 2020, the Dolphins were able to grab a 26-point win on the road, which is sure to be a result that they'd love to replicate. Miami has won five in a row heading into this one, while the 49ers have won four in a row in their own right. With both teams hoping to be viewed as Super Bowl contenders, this is bound to be a game that NFL fans will want to tune in for.

Dolphins Looking Like AFC Contenders

The Dolphins have been one of the most impressive teams in the NFL this season and while all the talk in the AFC East has surrounded the Bills, the Dolphins actually find themselves right there with them. A three-game losing streak in the middle of the season looks far and far less concerning as the season progresses as well, especially with their own current five-game winning streak. The schedule hasn't been too difficult though yet, with those five wins all coming against teams who are likely to find themselves watching the playoffs from home. Having to travel across the country and take on the 49ers, who are a strong team themselves, is bound to be a strong challenge for this group. If Miami can grab a win in this one and stay on top of the division, it's sure to continue to turn heads.

The Dolphins do have a few injuries to worry about as well in this one. Tua Tagovailoa (ankle) is one name to keep an eye on though he is at least probable for the weekend. LT Terron Armstead (pectoral) is questionable, as is WR Tyreek Hill (lower body), adding two potential consequential absences to the lineup for the weekend. On the defensive side, Byron Jones (ankle) remains out, as does Trill Williams (knee), hurting the secondary. OT Austin Jackson (ankle) is also out for this game leaving some major questions on the offensive line and protection for Tagovailoa.

Miami's offense will have a tough test against the 49ers in this one and their ability to move the ball with ease might be in question. Even though they rank third in the league in total offense, second in passing, and sixth in scoring, the lack of ground game continues to haunt them. They rank 28th in the league in rushing yards per game and until they can find a way to control the clock better, games like this could be a struggle. Tagovailoa (19 touchdowns, 3 interceptions) has been elite at quarterback and even with Hill's potential absence, Jaylen Waddle is sure to provide problems for San Francisco's secondary.
