Prediction, Preview, and Odds

#461 Washington Commanders vs.

#462 New York Giants

Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 1:00pm EST

MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford

The clock has officially turned over to December and both the Washington Commanders and New York Giants are firmly in the NFC playoff mix.

Washington (7-5) has won six of its last seven, the best streak of any team in the NFL over that time. The Giants (7-4) have dropped two consecutive games but still remain ahead of the Commanders in the standings.

Sunday's meeting between Washington and New York is the first of two meetings between the clubs in a span of three weeks.

Here’s what you need to know before kickoff.

COMMANDERS vs. GIANTS WEEK 13

Who: Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants

What: Week 13 of the 2022 NFL season

NFL Show

This Sunday, the (7-5) Washington Commanders will travel to East Rutherford, NJ to take on the (7-4) New York Giants. Kickoff will be at 1:00 PM EST inside MetLife Stadium. This will be the first time that these two teams face off this season, as the winner of this game will have a better chance of making the playoffs.

The Washington Commanders are coming into this game after taking down the Atlanta Falcons, 19-13. They looked incredible on the defensive side of the field, as they showed that they could defend the run or the pass. They will have to carry that momentum over into this game if they want to challenge the Giants on the road.

The New York Giants are entering this matchup after falling to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. They struggled on the offensive side of the field, as they couldn't score enough points to stay competitive in that game. They will have to efficiently find the end zone in this one if they want to defend their home field against the Commanders.

Looking for my Best Bet?

Yesterday's Best Bet cashed, as I had the over 57 points in the UCF vs. Tulane game. That's two in a row and I am on a (7-3) NFL run, as I will be looking to get hot today! Now, I have picked a side in the Chargers vs. Raiders game, as one of these teams has a serious advantage! You can't miss out on this pick. Buy this Best Bet and I will see you back in the GREEN!

Can the Commanders Stay Hot?

The Washington Commanders are still in last place in the NFC East, but they are (4-1) in their last five games played. On offense, they are scoring 19.4 points per game and they are avenging 324.9 total yards. This is the 24th most points scored per game and the 23rd least amount of total yards averaged per contest. Washington has struggled to consistently move the ball through the air, as they are averaging 203.8 passing yards per game, which is the 24th least in the NFL. Taylor Heinicke will start at quarterback, as he has thrown for seven touchdowns and five interceptions this season. He will look to get the ball to Terry McLaurin, as he has been the leading receiver on this team. He has recorded 840 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Commanders have leaned on their rushing attack, as they are averaging 121.1 rushing yards per game. This is the 15th most in the league, as they have shown that they can run a balanced offense. Antonio Gibson is the lead back for this team, as he has recorded 476 yards and three touchdowns this season.

On defense, the Commanders have been very tough to beat. They have been great against the run and their secondary has continued to hold its own as well. Washington is currently allowing 19.7 points per game and 310 total yards. This is the 10th least amount of points allowed per contest and the eighth least amount of yards given up per game. Washington's front seven has continued to impress, as they have been able to clog the middle and stop the run. They are only allowing 108.4 rushing yards per game, which is the eighth least in the league. The Commanders have also held their own against the pass, as their secondary is only allowing 201.6 passing yards. This is the 10th least amount of yards allowed through the air, as it hasn't been easy to consistently move the ball against Washington. Jamin Davis continues to lead this defense, as he has recorded 68 total tackles and three sacks this season.

Injury Report: Chase Young DE (Knee), Dax Milne WR (Foot), Benjamin St-Juste CB (Ankle), Antonio Gibson RB (foot), Logan Thomas TE (Ribs), Trai Turner G (Ankle), Tyler Larson C (), Wes Schweitzer G (Concussion), and Carson Wentz QB (Finger) are all listed as questionable.
